Founder of Communiko

Who am I really?

A former journalist who has migrated into public relations but still loves to write. Instead of preparing articles for the press, I spent two decades creating quality news stories on behalf of the organizations I worked for. And not only that!

My area of expertise is strategic communications in the corporate, state, and non-profit sectors, media relations, crisis communications, event management, corporate and government affairs. From strategy to execution, turnkey.

Professional development

My career began in 1996 when I was still a junior student. I started working for the daily newspaper “Dnevni Telegraf” as a journalist. Even though it was my first job, this daily will remain my greatest professional love, a place that built me professionally and personally. Later, I was part of a young team at “Media Works”, a company that grew into something much bigger – “Orion Telekom”. New excitement came with 2002 and work in the Government of Zoran Djindjic when I officially entered the PR field. Two years of professional tempering, great pride, and enormous enthusiasm followed. The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, the national association of local authorities in Serbia, has been my safe house for over a decade. During this period, working on projects of international organizations (EU, UN, OSCE, GIZ, Sida, DFID), I matured in communications in the non-governmental sector. For the last five years, as a Corporate PR manager, I was responsible for external communications of Hemofarm, a regional pharmaceutical leader.

I am very proud of the fact that I acquired knowledge in all three sectors: public (state), private (business), and non-profit (non-governmental). I learned a lot in each of them and am eager to share it with others.

What do I like to do the most?

It is probably apparent – to write. In fact, my greatest dream was to become a writer, but who can make a living from writing, I was told. So, I chose a profession most similar to that. It turned out later that I won’t even make a living from journalism, but I will from what I learned through it.

What am I especially proud of?

I am proud to manage public (external/media) relations on behalf of the company, which was selected by 200 journalists in Serbia as the best company communicator in 2019. There is no greater reward than one coming from professionals and as an anonymous choice.

My education also followed my love for words. I was a two-time British Government scholar doing post-graduate studies in communications. The London School of Economics, the University of Leeds, and the Belgrade Faculty of Political Science (journalism) are my academic credentials.
